Martha Bullen and Amelia Moule have made history as the first female crew from Sudbury Rowing Club to race and qualify for the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta, set to commence on 27 June. Moule and Bullen competed in the 2000m time trial along the renowned Henley course, alongside international crews from Australia and China, as well as four additional homegrown crews in the Stonor Challenge Trophy for Women's Championship double sculls.

Following the completion of the full draw, the Sudbury crew will have their inaugural race at Henley Royal later in the week.

Meanwhile, their brothers also participated in the qualifying event, competing in the Men's Double Sculls Challenge Cup. Sudbury scullers Byron Bullen and Harry Moule showcased their exceptional skills, achieving a notable improvement in their time and surpassing some fierce competition. Although narrowly missing out on a qualifying place as the fastest non-qualifiers, their performance was commendable.

Henley Royal Regatta, the oldest and largest rowing regatta in the world, attracts international crews from Australia, China, USA, Holland, Denmark, Spain, Germany, and Canada, alongside top GB crews. The Sudbury rowers' achievement in training to a high standard and qualifying is a significant milestone for the club, building upon previous successful qualifications by male crews.
