Bedford Small Boats Head 2022
Sudbury rowing club attended Bedford Small boats Head where conditions were good and the distance was 1950 metres.
Altogether, 24 crews raced with lots of success at all levels. Seven crews won their categories: Harry Moule won the J17 single sculls; Morgan Moriarty and Victoria Burgess won the mixed double sculls, and the womens quad of Amelia Moule, Martha Bullen, Elise Richmond and Jess Wilby won the womens band 1 quads.
Robin King and Simon White won the mens masters F double sculls event; the masters mixed quad of Sophie Lovegrove, Mike Arnott, Jen ward and Tim Hysom won the Masters E event. Tim Wallace and Lydia Brown won the mixed master B event; Zoe Rogers and Victoria Burgess won the women’s band 3 double sculls event.
Another brilliant result was the mixed quad of Amelia Moule, Byron Bullen, Harry Moule and Martha Bullen who were racing in the mens band 1 category and finished third – 10 seconds off the winners and fifth fastest crew of the day.
Other crews missed out on medals by only a few seconds. Several members were racing for the first time and came away having thoroughly enjoyed their day.
Sudbury Adaptive rowers Luke Payne, Sophie Brown and Valerie Ingham-Boor also raced the Bedford course in mens and womens single sculls events.

Bedford Small Boats Head was another successful day out for members of Sudbury Rowing Club when they competed in the 2000 metre timed race.
