Sudbury mayor opens rowing club for 2023 racing season
On a glorious Good Friday morning, the Sudbury Rowing Club hosted its annual ‘Easter Egg Races’, which saw a number of club crews, including adaptive rowers competing against each other on the Stour. The athletic events were followed by an official ceremony, at which Sudbury Major, Ellen Murphy hoisted the flag to mark the opening of the spring season.
Sudbury Rowing Club is currently accepting new members and runs period learn-to-row courses for all ages and abilities, including a thriving juniors’ programme. Next year marks the 150th anniversary of the club.
