Strong showing and a win at Bedford Eights and Fours Head
Sudbury Rowing Club enjoyed a successful event on the River Great Ouse at the Bedford Eights and Fours Head on 12 February. Nine crews, comprising thirty members and spanning an age range of over fifty years, took on the 1600m downstream course. The club celebrated a win with their women’s eight, triumphing over the Men’s over-65 crew by two seconds with a time of 5 minutes and 57 seconds.
Alongside experienced competitors, the event provided newer members with their first racing experience. Despite some crews having no opposition and racing against the clock, the enthusiasm displayed by the club’s novice racers bodes well for the future racing pipeline and the club’s overall prospects.
