Norfolk Sculls Head

Some of the Winners at Norfolk sculls.

Sudbury rowers had a successful weekend competing at Norfolk Sculls Head in Norwich on Saturday and Bedford Small Boats Head on Sunday.

There were five wins at Norwich – covering the 5k course and winning the men’s coxless quad event were Steve Zimmerman, Raph Franke, Byron Bullen and Harry Moule in a time of 18:28. Amelia Moule and Martha Bullen won the women’s double sculls event in a time of 21:25.

Other Sudbury scullers competing were Harry Moule who came second in the men’s single sculls behind Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medallist James Rudkin, with Steve Zimmerman coming third in the same event. Jeremy Milbank and Sean Moriarty were third in the Mens Masters F double sculls event, Tim Hysom was 4th in his category. Tracy Muir and Teresa Moriarty raced in the women’s masters E double sculls event.

Winners in the 3k distance race, all juniors and competing in their debut head race were Ben Clarke and Tom Graham in the men’s double sculls event, Emilia Santamaria-Crew in the women’s single sculls event and Raph Franke had his second win of the day in the men’s single sculls event.

There was one win at Bedford Head – Sophie Lovegrove and Jennie Ward won the women’s masters D double scull event.

Karl Hillman competed well in his first head race in the men’s single sculls event.
