Bedford Star Head is SRC’s first race of the year
Sudbury Rowing Club attended their first race of the year at Bedford Star Head.
Nick George returned to Bedford for the first time in ten years in his debut race representing Sudbury. Competing in the the mens Open Sculls event, he finished second in a time of 7:54 behind a very quick sculler from Newark.
Jeremy Milbank and Sean Moriarty competed in the Masters E/F double sculls event. Their winter training was rewarded with two consistent rows and a win in their event in a time of 7:46, beating Star Club.
The mixed quad of Alex Elmon, Amanda Ashton, Jess Brown and Stephen Nichols competed in the Open Mixed quads event finishing second in a time of 7:34 behind another fast crew from Newark. They also raced in the Mixed Masters D quad, again finishing second in 7:36.
Sudbury Rowing Club will have a busy spring with races at Bedford and Norwich leading up to the Head of the River races on the Thames in March.
