The 2023 Sudbury Regatta is cancelled

Following the heavy and persistent rain over the last week the Organising Committee for the regatta became concerned about conditions on Friars Meadow.

We have now assessed conditions on the meadow and taken note of the forecast for the next few days.

Although a good part of the meadow is currently useable, we consider that the rain due to fall will result in ground that is very vulnerable to damage from vehicles during set up, tear down and especially during the regatta itself.

We cannot afford to leave the meadow in a damaged state and accordingly we have reluctantly taken the decision to cancel the event.
